Bangladesh to observe May Day
Tuesday, 05.01.2007, 05:49am (GMT+6)

The day is observed across the world every year since 1886 commemorating the supreme sacrifices of workers in the United States to establish the rights of eight-hour working day and with renewed pledge to uphold the rights of working class.

The government as well as various political parties and labour organizations have chalked out programmes to observe the day in a befitting manner.

President Iajuddin Ahmed and Chief Adviser Fakhruddin Ahmed in separate messages on the eve of the day have congratulated the working people and wished their overall wellbeing.
